Default I work at ebay call center in Salt lake...

Hi all, I work at the ebay call center in salt lake city utah I just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know what's really going on.
First of all as far as this site goes, during training they pull up this site on the big screen and make jokes about peoples complaints here. We literally visit this site regularly to have a few good laughs. Just wanted to make that known.
Now on a more serious note for those of you wondering why your account was suspended, limited or frozen there is a computer in California at ebay headquarters that is reffed to as "the brain" this computer is artificial intelligence and it calls the shots. This computer decides who stays and who goes. Despite what some may think, there is not a team of thousands sitting at computers reviewing sellers accounts.
8 Hours a day i sit and talk to people wondering why there account was limited and wanting to know how to resolve the issue and get back to selling, well to that my answer is scripted, "Please fax a copy of your Passport, ID and a recent bill with your name and address and so on.
I am not asking you for this to "Verify your information" I am asking you this so I can enter your information into our database to ensure you never have another ebay account. That's right when you fax in your information to us we use it to ensure you are locked out forever.
Don't believe me? How many people have you heard got their account back after faxing info? I bet not many, Only those who get lawyers. Guaranteed.
I am just the messenger, trying to offer some answers. Don't tread on me.

Default So ebay lies? Thought so.

So you admit that you and Ebay are dishonest. That you lie and that you squeeze out sellers who have not broken any rules. Sellers who are your bread and butter. Not that we didn't already know that. But thanks so much for verifiying it. I'm sorry your job is at stake now because Ebay is on its way down. No comapny can get away with being dishonest for long. If I were you I would look for a job I could be proud of. Maybe learn a few morals too. Karma bites and has huge teeth my dear.

I have forwarded your post to Ebay. Have a nice day.

Oh yeah! Me and my Ebay friends are now laughing at you.

You do understand where he states, "I am the messenger," correct? He's not an evil hencemen for some terrible empire. He's an employee, and he gets paid to handle customers the way the company tells him to handle them. He's been kind enough to anonymously tell us what the company actually does when those who have had their accounts limited submit their information, most likely in hopes for us to use that information to reduce PayPal's abuse and defend ourselves as customers and merchants.

Sellers aren't this person's "bread and butter," he couldn't care less if sellers are satisfied or left in the cold, other than a vague sense of morality that he has to push aside to do his job. He's an employee, and sometimes employees, especially those working for large corporations, are told to do immoral things. This is a case of that, and at least he's being kind enough to anonymously make us aware of their customer treatment and tactics. Their business practices are hardly his fault, and if you've ever worked for ANYONE ELSE, chances are you've facilitated them in doing things you don't agree with morally or that hurt other people.

Why would you attempt (albeit feebly) to get this man fired? He's being PAID to do the things you disagree with, that's his JOB. And you're reporting him to the company you so loathe because he's been kind enough to let us be aware of their tactics in hopes of altering their methods?

Take his contribution for what it is and use it to fight the company, not the little guys they employ.

Its because he admits to being dishonest himself for a pay check. And sits backs and laughs about it. Then comes to a forum agaist his comapnies methods and brags. Messenger indeed. Repecfully, did you read what he really said? I must have read it differently but I took it as him boasting about laughing at the unfairness when we object to ebays silly rules.

He, himself, is not distinctly dishonest. He is not doing or saying anything to a customer he is not told to say. If he didn't do it, someone else would. It's not his choice or decision.

He, specifically, does not "sit back and laugh about it," it being rather vague. There are occasionally some pretty stupid remarks here, amongst the genuine concerns and complaints, and add to that, you can expect anyone in any field to make fun of their customers. Customers complain, and whether legitimate complaints of not, if you get a group of people who work in a field together, they're going to laugh at the people they deal with and stress over all day. It's pretty simple, it's mob mentality.

He's hardly bragging. He's telling us how to system works so we can avoid getting burned. He wouldn't have given out information that would harm the company if he didn't intend to help their customers.

I think this guy is trolling you all. On eBay forums, a lot of people over the years have reported an account unfrozen once they faxed in documentation. If you look at complaints all over the web, most people had to wait to get their money but eventually got it and their account remained open. If Paypal really had hundreds of employees like OP who spent 8 hours a day getting info to "lock people out forever," who would even be left to use Paypal?

Also, do you really think a company is going to show all their new hires a website that says their company sucks? Even if they think everything here is bullshit, they wouldn't dream of telling every single employee to come here and laugh at people as part of their "training". There is nothing to be learned here except that people have had problems with Paypal, and by showing newbies an example of complaints, it just encourages these newbies to go out and find more complaints all over the Internet.

Come on, OP isn't even believable.

whoeever the OP was, he was simply trolling. During my 3 years at PayPal I worked in the limitations department and our account reviews department. Our jobs were to review accounts for suspicious activity and of course we also reviewed accounts once people faxed in the required information. I would say 95% of the people that actually provided the required documentation had their accounts unlocked. There is no Super Computer that reviews the information.

First of all, wondering if you were joking and just making out that you worked at eBay. Then, having read your statement I realised that, yes, you really are thick enough to work there. You said it yourself; you just read out statements. A computer could do that. So when you've finished pissing yourselves, maybe you should all go out and look for a job; because by the looks of things you'll all need one. eBay is fuckin shit anyway. If ya wanna buy something new just go to amazon or somewhere - it usually turns out cheaper elsewhere. And if you want something second-hand go down to the charity shop. Good luck finding those job guys. I have lots of money and don't have to work. Yes, I used ShitBay and PayShit, and they funcked up my accounts for me because they robbing, fraudulent bastards - but hey, they can't lock me out tit-face; i'm slightly smarter than you dumb-ass mother-fuckers....
