Try to contact the shampoo manufacturer and get a letter saying that what you got is definitely fake. This may be hard to achieve. But if you do this, you will have a proof to show to PayPal representatives and then they can't deny your claim.

I wouldn't suggest doing that. Sure, the customer can't be expected to do that, but faking a letter won't help their situation.

Yea first thats a ton of money for shampoo, i would never even consider spending more than $20 on ONE bottle of shampoo or conditioner, even if it made my hair come to life. But thats paypal for you, you got the item and because you recieved it, they wont do anything. Your going to have to take it up with the dealer and try to get your money back that way.

If they aren't helping you out, you can totally look into legal recourse.

Never heard of paypal doing something like this but surely this is another way you can get your money back.
I don't mean to be rude, but it's not anyone's business if OP wants to buy expensive shampoo. Why does it matter to you if she buys expensive shampoo and how is it relevant to Paypal allowing her to be ripped off?

The seller who sold her fake shampoo is wrong.
If she bought it on eBay, she should file an Item Not As Described case.
She should also contact the company that makes the real shampoo and tell them that someone is selling fake copies of their product. Gucci shuts down seller who sell fake Gucci bags, so I'm sure the company will be interested in a fake seller charging hundreds of dollars for a knockoff of their shampoo.

Everybody likes different things and should not be judged about it. Its a PayPal forum not a what-do-you-buy-with-your-money forum.

It doesn't matter if the item costs $20 or $250, it's still fraud on that seller's part. eBay needs to shut them down, but they probably won't. After all, by selling they're paying the bills for eBay.
