So I bought some things on Ebay, it came with a tracking number but the enveloppe was complete empty.
So I opened a dispute on Paypal but the seller send all his money to his real bank account, so his Paypal balance is now 0,00 I guess. Will ever see my money back? |

paypal tends to side with buyers and even if his paypal account balance is $0 that would not affect you getting your money back if you win your dispute. It would put his paypal account with a negative balance and if he does not pay his negative balance paypal has a tendency to help themselves to the money from the bank account linked to the paypal account.

You can't, another loophole when using paypal/ebay. Too many ways to get scammed whether you are a buyer or seller. Paypal can still go into his bank account to recover funds for you. Has there been a ruling in your dispute?

It looks like you may have just been scammed which sucks and this is exactly why using paypal should be a very, absolute last resort.
Paypals system is one in which scammers both buyers and sellers tend to lurk. These good-for-nothin scammers "buy" only to get their money back AND keep the product or they "sell" and never actually send as you as just found out, Teddymanneke. Chalk it up to lesson learned....momma always said "shame me once, shame on you; shame me twice, shame on me." Good luck in getting some resolution but don't hold your breath, this is Pay Pal. |

Thanks for your comments I agree that Paypal is getting a bit too big for its boots at the moment. If you ever have a problem with them they dont seem keen to solve the issue.
Also I sold a number of things on eBay with a normal PayPal account and got scammed because the seller said that they didnt receive the goods. PayPal only seems to accept tracking numbers and not a proof of postage. Reading on the internet it actually seems like a very common problem. Andrew |

Scammers do this all the time, send an empty box. Once you sign the receipt that you received the package/envelope there is nothing that you can do.
You can file a chargeback with your credit card company if you used a credit card to pay. If the money came from your bank account go to your bank and state it was an unauthorized transaction and see if they can reverse it for you. Worth a shot. |

I had an issue being shipped something from a seller on ebay who used paypal as ONLY option of payment...should have been my first clue that this transaction might come back to bite me in the butt.
I got the biggest run around with paypal/ebay and that was more aggrevating than the crappy purchase made. I decided to save my sanity, eat the cost and NOT use paypal again. Learned my lesson. Much better to purchase with a credit card, at least the card company "has your back" unlike paypal...they just have their own back! |
