I tried to pay a legitimate business through paypal and they would not allow me to send more than $5000 -- even though each transaction was less than that. The total of several transactions exceeded that amount. They wanted me to give them all my bank info in order to complete the transaction, but I've heard enough bad feedback about them and had enough of my own unpleasant experiences so I refused.
Not only did they inconvenience me, but they are harming the business as well by making it difficult to pay them. What is wrong with these people? |

Just about everything is wrong with paypal.
I would not buy anything from a business that only accepts paypal. If you are a real legit business you can have a real merchant account. A lot of these business that only accepts paypal are a bit shady....why not just have a real merchant account and have funds deposited directly into a checking account instead of dealing with paypal holds and having to transfer your money into your checking account. |

I echoe Magpie as I, too had an incident where I was treated unjustly by both the business (that only accepted Pay Pal) and then Pay Pal customer service. Horrible experience and just a waste of my time. I had a gut feeling though not to buy simple because the seller only accepted Pay Pal. I prefer to use Visa or Mastercard because at least with my cards I do have some buyer protection. With Pay Pal it's just all a little too shady for me so never again will I use Pay Pal. It is easy enough to find what I want from someone that accepts Visa and Mastercard.
Buyer Beware if using Pay Pal! |

You are so correct, and I am one that hates PayPal. I see they are making bigger adn bigger inroads to main stream retailers, but honestly I will never use them again. Two times hacked is enough for me.
