Paypal froze my cousins account after trying to fundraise for a AAC communication device and wheelchair, they are wanting documentation that she is a non profit or charity organization but she is just a disabled person and never saw anywhere that she couldn't fundraise as an individual, after a dispute they closed it and now she cant dispute them further despite information now revealing them as being wrong in freezing her account.

Sadly enough paypal froze your cousin's account because they CAN. Disturbing, yes. Paypal can destroy a persons livlihood because they CAN. You didn't state if they kept money as well, that is what they do best. If they can do anything good it is "holding onto someone else's money!!!" Hate to hear your story, it is heartbreaking but not uncommon. There are way too many people that paypal has done a number on and it is shocking to me, I'm sure to many of us.

I googled Regretsy because I was not familiar with the story and that is absolutely awful what paypal did to them and how badly they were treated by that Paypal rep on the phone.
They were able to get the attention of the rest of the world enough so that paypal had to do something to not look like total a**holes in this case. I wish I could have the same outcome for my cousin. I am going to try to help her get this sorted out for her even though paypal said case (and account) closed. Maybe this Regretsy scandal will make them a bit more willing to work with us or maybe the local TV station wants to do a story about her. |
