Default Penalized for being good eBay seller

I have a high DNR, ship within 1 day with tracking information, and have 100% positive feedback.. and PayPay put a balance pending 21 day freeze on my account and just cancelled a transfer to my bank which I need to run my business.. without notice. When I called, I got a guy I could barely understand who interuppted me constantly assuring me everything was OK, like I was an idiot.

Sounds about right... PayPal doesn't care about how poorly they treat their customers.

Don't waist your time with Sarah, the paypal chatbot. That bitch had me wanting to kill someone and was in no way helpful at all. She made the real customer service reps seem like a brain surgeon.

I think most of us have encountered their 21 day hold at this time and not a thing you can do about it.

From Paypal's official website:

"When some sellers receive payments, we may hold the money in a pending balance for up to 21 days to help make sure that there are funds in the seller's account to cover potential refunds or claims. The funds may be released early if PayPal determines that the transaction has been fulfilled and customers are satisfied.

While funds are pending, the money belongs to you but isn't available to spend or withdraw. (WTF WTF WTF???? This Parentheses is not from their website just my insert)

If payments on your account are held, we'll notify you. PayPal will re-evaluate your account every 35 days and decide whether or not to continue holding payments. If we decide to stop holding future payments, we'll contact you"

No one ships without payment in their hand it is just absurd that paypal/ebay request their users to do this. Any other online business that you shop at will charge your credit card and then ship your item. They don't wait 21 days to see is you got the item and are happy with it. Do you think that is how Avon does it ? Or if you shop online at the home depot?

I think there would be alot of people taking advantage is that was the case.

You buy a power drill online from the home Depot but they don't get any money from your purchase. Now you receive the drill and you like it. Use it and build that tree house as planned. Well you don't need the drill anymore so just say that it didn't work and you are very unhappy with it and now you get your money back but keep the drill why spend the money on shipping is you all ready got your refund?

yes, that would be the sensible thing to do. no money, no goods

problem with this is that the buyer paid, of course.
the customer bought something and paid for it and is entitled to his/her goods.

how you are going to explain that you will ship in about 3 weeks time ?

the buyer doesn't know nor care about paypal " we-hold-your-money-hostage" scheme.

i have seen ebay listings that stated in plain easy language that the item will be shipped out once the payment is in their account. again, the buyer does not make the connection- for him/her its simple:

i paid you - where is my shit ?

besides, those who state in their listings that they will ship out only after funds are released by paypal have a short life-span on ebay.

no, you really need to ship anything with a tracking and delivery confirmation and you MAY get the money sooner -

"frozen" paypal accounts seem to be less in numbers with the new way of holding your money. better to wait a while than having zero.
but its like a high wire act, something done with great care and skill. unless you want to sell in burst's you really need to budget the funds you have available to buy new stock, pay for shipping and listing and FVF etc.

it doesn't really matter how you slice it - the sucked before, they still do and they always will.

gosh, i wish i would have had THAT idea couple decades ago......
