Default Should have known better!

I ordered from a vendor on line that only accepted payments through Paypal (that alone should have clued me in that something might be awry). Visa and Mastercard is always a good option to offer. Anyway Paypal withdrew the funds from my account immediately and 4 days later, I still hadn’t received notification from the vendor so I called Paypal (another experience in and of itself) and was told that they hadn’t forwarded the funds because payments were “processed by batches.” Ok and…??? I just have to wonder what archaic system they use. The money was FINALLYforwarded the following day, so my order was held up for 5 days while Paypal earned money on my funds just by sitting in their account. Frustrating!

I have had my account limited for such absurd reasons and the way my money is being held from me using them is just pure and simple theft. It does not matter if you are a buyer, seller or both they will find a way to get a hold of your money.
At least your story had a happy (somewhat delayed) ending and I guess the moral of the story is to STAY AWAY FROM PAYPAL

You got that right. It has definately made me more hesitant in using paybal as either buyer or seller. Just don't like the way they do business (if you can call it that)! Reading up other peoples experience with the merchant account that is provided on this site.

Default buyer beware

My buddy purchased a memory card on EBay only to find out he purchased from a shadey seller. He found out that vendors from China and Hong Kong, who are known to sell off counterfeit/hacked computer memory are using EBay and PayPal in their schemes.
In order to get the money back from these vendors, you have to pay to return the illegal item. This makes EBay a partner in crime. There are lots of consumers who have been cheated and many more who are not aware that they have been cheated yet. This SUCKS and nothing is being done! My buddy has just chalked this up to money lost and lesson learned. One less buyer on Ebay anyway. Sucks for the honest people.

Default seller beware, everyone beware of paypal

I don't get it why so many people use paypal. Why? It is not cheap, easy, fast, secure or any of the other things paypal promises. It is just the opposit.

Paypal can hold your money at any time for any reason. This is stated on their ToS that every user have to agree to before signing up.

You wouldn't trust your money with a bank that did that so why trust your money with Paypal. They are not even FDIC insured!!
