Default The Feds: Anyone Contact Them Yet?!?

I'm wondering if anyone has contacted entities within the federal government yet?!?

Like the FTC - Federal Trade Commission, the DOJ - Department of Justice, the POTUS - President of the United States, the DA - District Attorney(in both California and Nebraska), other state and federal officials and so on...

We're not dummies/morons here, but eBay and PayPal is totally relying on that assumption... This is bloody America, and we need to launch a full scale assault on these cyber-terrorists...

I mean, we've been robbed here, we pay taxes, so why sit back and let eBay and PayPal get away with this based upon a technicality that they're not a "financial" institution so they aren't governed by the FDIC nor subjected to any federal regulations in terms of our money, because it is a private entity...

But they do business in the US(headquartered here) and around the world and they are indeed governed by some federal entity or entities, so we need to make a serious effort to make the accountable for their blatantly arrogant illegal actions...

They take our hard earned money and make profits of it in the form of interest while we the individuals who made it, can't get access to it... Oh you can accept payments, but you can't touch it until we've made enough interest off of your money(our money)...

You know what one of those snot nosed PaidPunks(aka Pathetic Pilferers) representatives told me over the weekend on the phone... They do this to us because they have to cover their losses, not ours, theirs... They went on to say in a nutshell, that that's how they do business...

Not once did that snot nosed drone mention anything about buyer and/or seller protection in the conversation, until I basically had to tell them so basically that supposed protection feature is just a load of hot-air to attract new users...

Of course they tried to deny what I had to tell them, but the first impression is already there... The cat is out of the bag, there is NO buyer or seller protection, that's just smoke and mirrors, they only care about covering their profits, by seizing the money we've earned...

So I'd like to ask each and every one of you, to become the bane of eBay and PayPal by contacting the federal government and our officials... Take them to task, make the Obama administration make good on at least one of its promises...

Because if I remember correctly, Mr. Obama did talk about change, especially when it comes to big corporations like eBay and PayPal who feel that they can prey upon those they deem to be weak and get away with it...

We need to unite and do this, not by posting blogs and building anti-eBay and PayPal sites, but by filing complaints through the appropriate channels... Let's stop the rampant lawlessness of these two multi-billion dollar companies...

Default Count me in

Count me in. It's time that someone stands up and makes a difference. Like the old saying goes "absolute power corrupts absolutely". They seem to have forgotten that their very existence came about because people like you and me placed our faith in them and gave them the opportunity to prove their worth. Well it's quite obvious that they have amnesia!

Best regards,
Alex

Default How about the Securities Exchange Commission?

Have been a PowerSeller on eBaY now for @ 10 years. They make policy changes at least every 6 months. They used to report their Institutional Trading on their website - dont anymore. Have long believed them to be involved in an Insider Trading "reverse pump & dump" scheme because it was always the same names that dumped stock when it was high months before making (fee) policy changes that would decrease stock value and then buy back in once it got decreased months before making policy changes that were sure to increase stock value. And it was always the SAME investors...

hi, I am new to the forum, is this what you guys are talking about?

can someone point me to a right direction? I have already contacted firm in Chicago named Freed & Weiss regarding about the case they have right now.

Where else should I find help? Why the hell did a credit card processing company freeze my account without any questions and starting to hold my money for 90 days? While I do over 3000+ Transactions Per month and Top Rated Power Seller on eBay.

How am I suppose to pay my vendors?
How am I suppose to pay USPS,UPS and Fedex?
How am I suppose to pay my employees?
How am I suppose to continue my business?

Answer I got from paypal : "If your profit margin is so low, that is exactly why we think you are high risk customer and place a reserve on your funds"
me : "If I close my account and go to Amazon.com right now, how soon can I recover my funds?"
Paypal : "90 days"

P.S.
I have already left out all the scam charge backs we regularly get (that our paypal manager said will protect us from), we figure it is about 1% loss and we mark up our products to cover the lost.
All the scammers out there, please burn in hell.

Default Here's what I've done...

As soon as I learned about this indefinite-day hold (some say 21 days, but I'm also hearing its 180), I immediately removed the PayPal option from my website. I was incredibly angry that I had to find out about this accidentally through another forum (I never received so much as an email from PP about this policy change). As it clearly doesn't seem legal, I decided to investigate. I thought I'd share with you the steps I took in trying to bring some justice to this rogue company.

My state's Division of Banks; I received a phone call from them stating that PayPal is not under their jurisdiction and they could not even direct me to the proper entity with which to file a complaint; they said “maybe the Attorney General can help you.”

My state Attorney General; they sent me a letter directing me to file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) | Home).

My state Governor; I relayed what the Division of Banks told me, and that after researching online who in my state licenses PayPal, I keep getting the same results: the Division of Banks. I told the governor that our Division of Banks was clueless and I questioned what was going on. No response received.

The FTC, the California Attorney General and the Santa Clara District Attorney; I sent each a letter calling their institutions a fraud just like PayPal. The California AG and the Santa Clara DA "thanked" me for my letter and said they are not in any position to do anything to help me but will file my letter in the appropriate place for future reference. The FTC never responded.

The U.S. Attorney General; I pointed out that an internet search of “PayPal complaints” results in over 4 million pages, but strangely nothing is ever done. I also posed the question "is PayPal not under the jurisdiction of the United States of America?" They replied that I should file a complaint with the FTC...*sigh*

My Congressman; I sent him a copy of my letter to the U.S. Attorney General. No response received.

Per my state AG’s recommendation, I sent the IC3 a letter, but guess who I discovered was on their “Alliances” page? eBay! I immediately faxed a letter to the local office of the FBI calling their institution a fraud. Of course, no response was received. I also just sent a letter to the FBI headquarters in Washington with a copy of that letter and a printout of my blog documenting this whole thing (pointing out that they are free to post a response publicly), but I'm pretty certain I won't receive any response.

I have sent letters to every major news corporation (Reuters, AP, even CNET) and local investigative teams as well. Not one response from any of them.

So there you have it. Seems the only option we have is to boycott this company.

wow, you're so rich
I'm only 15 and PayPal did this to me

I WON the claim at first, and PayPal freaked out when he did an actual chargeback and decided to Accept his chargeback and he won.. then they give me an extra -$20 for a Chargeback Settlement Fee?? What..

How I'm going to pay this? I do not know, all I know is that Debt Collectors are calling 3 of my family members all because of me and it stresses me out so much I just don't know what I'm going to do. Everything reminds me of this debt and I feel so much pressure.. It's really killing me.

People, you cant really report ebay and paypal.

Remember, that the choice of using PayPal or eBay was your own choice. And I'm afraid to tell you this but even though they have a bad practice and a way of doing business similar to crook, there is nothing the government can do because of a thing called lassis-faire or however it's spelled which got implemented in Capitalism.

The best way to not fall in their traps is to stay away and inform others not to use any of their services.

Default Not true

So, because I choose to do business with someone who then chooses to rip me off means that there's nothing the government can do about it? That's not true! That's why we have a government--to protect us from predators. Predators often show up in sheep's clothing, like Paypal.

Default Massive Lawsuits and government action go hand-in-hand with expose movies!

Let's get together and start documenting this on film! Let's get it out there, and when we do the regulatory agencies and legal bodies will be forced to take notice because of pressure from voters and taxpayers. That's how it's done in the U S of A!
