I started to sell again using paypal and as soon as I had 1224.00 in my account they Froze it, Saying I owed them money from 7 yrs ago???I have no Idea what their talking about. I have not even had my account for seven years! I'm a single mon out of work and raising a 13 yr old. Does anyone one know how I can get my money back..and keep my paypal account? I need this to put food on the table and as much as I HATE paypal I need my account.
Please Help!

You can ask PayPal why they've done this but I'd venture a guess it's because they want your money to pay someone else.

OK so you have two ways to go here;

1. Stop using paypal and ignore them. But being that you still want to use paypal i guess this is not going to work for you. You could get a merchant account instead of using paypal and collect payment that way.

2. You would have to log in to your paypal account and go to the Resolution Center to see what action is required from you by paypal. And follow those steps to get your account unfrozen. You may still have to wait some time before they release your money to you (if they do).

Paypal has in their User agreement that they can limit/hold funds for any reason and they don't have to tell you why your funds are being held. I think most of the time they just make up reasons like in your case.

26 days later and hours on the phone and countless e-mails later I have finally been told by paypal that my money is going to be released in 21 days. I am not going to be holding my breath waiting for it because if there is one thing I have come to learn with paypal there are a lot of empty promises.

I was able to prov to them that my paypal account is not even 7 years old. I would have thought that this was something they could have just looked up themselves but oh no. Luckily I am one of those crazy people that never deletes an e-mail so I had the welcome to paypal e-mail I got when I signed up and I guess i was lucky enough to come across a helpful individual at paypal that took their time to look into my problem.

I'll keep you posted if I ever get my money.

hope it turns out ok... lessoned learned I guess, no more paypal, right? It makes me sick how they stick it to the "little guys".
