My Husband and I are trying to sell our dining room set. Got an email from a man who wants to buy it. Great. Says he put 1200.00 in paypal. Wants us to send 350.00 to his pickup agent. Once he receives conformation of this we are told we will receive our money from paypal and he'll come and pick up the dining room set. We are new at this and are worried we will be scammed for 350.00.
What is a pick up agent? Is this how it typically works with paypal? I have not experienced this in the past with any buyer. Please advice. Thank you. |

This is a really old scam at that. When I was selling cars on various websites, I'd get these offers all the time. Buyer would email and say: 'I'd like to buy your car and will send you a check. The check I'm sending is $3500 more than the price you're asking because it's my inheritance check and I can't get it issued for any less. Once you receive the check, just send me back the extra $3500 and I'll have my agent fetch the car. Thanks!'
Of course, I knew this was a scam from the minute I read it but I'd have them send the check anyway; always FedEx or UPS Overnight or something that cost them money. I would never hear back from them of course and I never sent them any money. At one time, I had more than 10 checks totaling more than $75,000 - each one as worthless as tits on a snake. They did look very real and I can see how someone could be fooled. I figure if I got them to spend $12 for an overnight envelope, I had won. |

I used to love working the scammers from Nigeria and get them to send me all sorts. I just love the idea of a scammer spending money - wicked bitch!! LOL

Well, forward it to PayPal & then see if you can scam the scammer like they did here.
