Default PayPal is broken

Alright, a few days, I got an E-mail from PayPal stating one of my purchases didn't go through. Right then and there I realize this is complete bullshit seeing how: A. If the money didn't go through, then why did the seller send the item? I've never met an eBay seller who didn't send the item before receiving the money. And B. How exactly did this go through? If there's no money in the account, then shouldn't I have received the E-mail 5-6 Months ago? You know, around the time when I made the purchase? So the first thing I do is close my PayPal Account since I may start receiving E-mails stating my other purchases "didn't go through". 2 days later, my sister comes to me and tells me that $80 were charged from her credit card. I remember now that I never removed her card from PayPal (a very bad move) when she let me use her card to buy some things for my birthday. She tells me I owe her money for my supposed "purchase". I'm not sure what to do. Is there any way I can get my money back? I already know this to be a scam, but my sister wants her money back and I'm broke.

Since it is a credit card, I would ask your sister to call the credit card company and report that $80 as an unauthorized transaction. Paypal wont mess with the credit card company like they mess with its members and their personal checking/debit accounts.
