Check Paypals terms of service. They have just rolled out a new Seller protection policy! :]

I was just ripped off over $500 because a buyer "claimed" the purchase was a fake and then "claimed" they destroyed it without ever having to prove evidence of the item being counterfeit or any proof of destruction from a manufacturer or official! This is total theft and the eBay & PayPal policies allow it to happen by NOT requiring buyers to provide proof.

Wow, that really sucks. How hard did you try to fight that one? Did you have any proof that the item was real and not destroyed when you shipped it out?

It's really sad there are people out there that would do stuff like that.

I have read tons of complains from sellers that the buyers in Ebay rip them off, so they would always advise and warn people not to use Ebay if they want to sell something unless they want to get robbed. And it's so true, since Ebay usually sides with the buyer even if the seller provided legit proof.

Ok, so how did you exactly prove anything? First of all, it's a little more complicated than that. Second of all, they actually catch the majority of these fake buyers/sellers.

This is perfectly possible. PayPal and eBay are always biased to the buyer and he could get away with this easily. I have read posts of many of sellers who got scammed like this.

They should make people take a picture of the idea before it is sent. This would cut down on this crap SO much. Such a simple thing too...
