Hi guys,
first of all I have to say I'm sorry so many people have a problem with PayPal. It's just not good. I got scammed just like the most of you but that's not the problem in itself. Shortly after the buyer/scammer filed a chargeback my account balance went negative. But since I live outside the USA or the UK I can't add the funds (I'm in Sweden, the option in the menu is simply missing). If I try to resolve my negative balance it always fails to get the money from my credit card. Is it because there is still a dispute going on or something? Has anybody gone through this as well? How did you solve it? I'd like to resolve that negative balance so that I could close my account but PayPal, being what is, just doesn't help me with this at all. Instead I get automated responses which are pretty much just excerpts from the rules. |

Hello Sang Hee,
Since you are not planning on using paypal anymore I would recommend that you do not pay negative balance. Just walk away from it knowing that you will never use paypal again. Be sure to close any bank account you have linked to your paypal account and report any credit card you have linked to your paypal account as lost or stolen. That way there is no way for paypal to help themselves to pay your negative balance. If there is a negative balance paypal will always try to withdraw the money from either your bank account or credit card. This typically happens after 43 days. Now paypal will not let you close your account is you have had any activity in the last 6 months. And even when closing your account they save and keep all your information you have ever given to them forever. So closing your account is not going to do much. Did you ever get the item you sold back? Jag onskar dig lycka till och hoppas att detta loser sig med paypal men betala inget om du inget ar skyldig! |

Tack så mycket!
The item is not the problem. I just wanna go back to having a clean slate. The money I've lost is small compared to everyone else so it's not a problem for me to pay it - it was just a collectible card. What I'm after is a peace of mind. Knowing that I owe someone - regardless of circumstances - doesn't work for me. Besides, if they keep my info forever they might be able to demand the money from me any way they find and possibly make it worse. Maybe they can't now but they certainly may if they decided to change their policies. Even if I tried to ask them how long time I have to pay the negative balance I didn't get any answer at all. So I'd like to know if there is a way to resolve the situation without leaving the mess. So since PayPal doesn't provide me with any useful info I have to ask here. Sorry if I don't right away close my bank account but I'll certainly keep it in mind if it's the last option. |

Ok, so there is no real time limit until which I have to pay it 'or else'?

I'm not too sure that's what they do to everyone else..

Alright. In that case I'll take my time with paying until I actually have money to spare. Times are hard enough to let PayPal and the scammers to slow me down now.

Do not pay them a dime and go else where. They are easy to use, but thats not worth the risk you take. Be warned |

What do they normally do and how can you get around it?
