Default Why use paypal?

I frequent this forum and one thing I don't understand is why people use paypal after all the horror stories posted on here. A lot of you hate them but use them and i don't blame you because that is my story.

Why do you use paypal?

I did use PayPal purely out of convenience for when I set up shop on ebay. I did ok with Paypal but I was getting fed up with them holding money for long periods of time before depositing and actually the fees were too high for getting absolutely no kind of customer service or support when needed...yeah they may advertise it is free to have an account but I remember being told "you get what you pay for". Finally got fed up and walked away actually after spending some time in my frustration reading and researching other things on line realized I'm in the same boat as many and stumped as well as to how people remain with them. Guess sometimes you get comfortable even in dysfunction...not me...not now!

I use paypal because it seemed like the easiest option when signing up to sell on ebay. I don't even recall seeing that there were other options then paypal. and it was easy to sign up with paypal, everything after that has not been easy at all. Lots of hassle with verifying acccount and the constant holds are a pain in the ass.

If you have too much money and don't know what to do with all your money using paypal is a great way to get rid of some of that unwanted money. Quick and easy.

I signed up with paypal because I did not want to be stuck in any contracts or with any monthly fees but with their high processing fees of 2,9% I would have been better off having a low monthly fee with a lower %. There are now also lots of other options without contracts so paypal better shape up if they want to keep their users.

Yea household name all right...PayPal Sucks is the name in most though. Been there, done that can't do no more. They are my enemy #1!

As to why I ever used them...needed a way to get money for my items and it seemed to be the easiest and cheapest way to go. Cheap and easy isn't usually the best way to go though when you really think about it. Guess I learned a lesson as many others....the hard way!

I got bullied to use paypal when seller would not take other payment form many years ago. For long time I just use to buy things but then started selling for extra moneys. Then all the bad things started.
